In the heart of Regis Retirement Village Norwood is the dedicated Village Manager, Amanda Smith.

Over the course of six years, Amanda has embraced the diversity that comes with managing a retirement community, where each day unfolds with a unique set of challenges and joys.

“I am very passionate and feel extremely privileged to be working as Village Manager at Regis Retirement Living Norwood. There is so much diversity working in Retirement Living.”

What drew Amanda to the aged care sector was the opportunity to work closely with older individuals in the community and contribute to making a positive difference in their lives.

Amanda’s passion for her role is evident in the diversity of tasks she tackles daily. She feels privileged to provide a safe and welcoming environment for the residents. The diversity of Retirement Living enriches her professional life, while the support from the national retirement living team and the co-joined aged care Home team creates a collaborative and supportive working environment.

“Our residents rely on us to be there for them, making them feel safe in their home; assisting them with their daily living and it warms my heart to be there for them,” says Amanda.

For Amanda, the joys of working with the elderly are vast and heartfelt. From cherishing the unique personalities within the Village community to listening to their rich life experiences.

“I love how the residents care about us as much as we care about them. They become an extended family.”

To those aspiring to embark on a career in aged care, Amanda believes that those with kindness, compassion and a genuine passion for giving back to the community are a perfect fit. Amanda emphasises the rewarding nature of work where every day brings new opportunities for learning and growth.
