Since 2003, Edina Xhemajli has been an integral part of the Regis Dandenong North family. As International Women’s Day (IWD) approaches, Edina reflects on her experiences and the significance of this global celebration.
For Edina, International Women’s Day is more than just a date on the calendar. It’s a time to honour the remarkable achievements of women worldwide in economic, political, cultural and social spheres. It’s a day to celebrate unity, resilience and progress.
As a message to her fellow women in the sector and beyond, Edina emphasises the power of unity and empowerment. She believes that by supporting and uplifting one another, women can achieve extraordinary feats.
When asked about her sources of inspiration, Edina immediately acknowledges her mother. Her mother’s unwavering strength and resilience have served as a guiding light, shaping Edina into the woman she is today.
Working with older people has been a deeply rewarding experience for Edina. It has imparted invaluable life lessons and values, reminding her never to take anything for granted. Through her interactions with the elderly, she has gained a newfound appreciation for the simple joys of life and the importance of cherishing every moment.
