Meet Emma, Assistant in Nursing (AIN) at Regis Birkdale. Commencing with Regis in 2020, Emma previously worked as a receptionist and a workplace health and safety representative, which allowed her to develop new skills and interact with residents in different ways.

Having first been attracted to the industry due to her love of the health industry, Emma now appreciates most the opportunity to listen to residents’ experiences and advice. She says, “I like their stories, they’ve all lived different and interesting lives.”

For Emma, no two days are the same, but they’re always busy. As an AIN, she helps residents with daily tasks, including personal care, meal times, and medication management.

“I like how cohesive we are as a team. I love our residents!” says Emma, speaking of what she loves about her team and role.

For those considering a career in aged care, Emma says, “it’s hard but it’s so rewarding.” Aged care workers develop close relationships with residents and become a vital part of their lives, helping them maintain their independence and quality of life.

Outside of work, Emma enjoys taking care of herself with regular gym sessions, socialising with friends, and getting plenty of rest.

We’re proud to have Emma as part of the Regis Birkdale team, and we’re grateful for her dedication to our residents’ wellbeing.
