Winner: Norma Crawford

Finalist: Nedlands Lifestyle Team

Norma Crawford from Regis Port Stephens is many things: an environmentalist, a conservationist, and importantly, a beacon who inspires our residents to make great sustainable choices. For Norma, recycling is a force of habit, and she always finds ways to re-use what she can. Her passion for the environment, recycling and caring for animals is who she is, and this devotion inspires residents to participate.

Norma looks after the recycling programs at the Home, which involves maintaining the recycling hub. She is also strongly involved with wildlife rescue, which means residents are often fortunate to enjoy visiting animals to the Home.

Most significant is how Norma rallies residents to take part and make sustainable choices. Last March, Norma organised a Clean Up Australia Day project to clean up the park and pond close to the Home. Residents took it in their stride to get involved and loved feeling part of a community. Additionally, she recently organised an outing to watch the release of a green sea turtle called Elvis, which was adored by residents and even featured on Better Homes and Gardens. By making fantastic choices to benefit our environment, Norma is an inspiration to all.

From all of us at Regis, congratulations Norma!
